For Heroclix and Horrorclix tournaments, we have the following guidelines for conduct of participants. These do not spell out every possible situation; however, all conduct will be judged by how it aligns with "Courtesy, Respect, and Common Sense".
Gaming Rules of Conduct Courtesy, Respect, and Common Sense are the basis for the rules regarding tournament participant behavior at Hero Headquarters. In order to ensure a safe and enjoyable gaming environment for all, players are expected to follow these 6 basic rules at all times:
1) Walk and play quietly. There is a certain level of noise to be expected while playing a game; but, please be courteous to your fellow gamers, store employees and other store patrons. 2) Keep hands, feet, and objects to yourself. No throwing of items. 3) Follow directions, game rules and store rules. During the game, the envoy has the last word. Arguing with the envoy is an unnecessary disruption in game play and violates the Rules of Conduct. If you have a disagreement with the Envoy, discuss it logically and peacefully after the event. The Wizkids Approved Play Rules are a part of the Game Rules. Cheating, deliberate rules omissions, excessive stalling, in short, ANYTHING that the Envoy deems to be against the letter or the spirit of the rules will not be tolerated. If you believe your opponent is doing any of these, tell the Envoy. By that same token, using the Envoy as a weapon against other players (knowingly false accusations, harassment, and delay of game) will be treated extremely harshly. Do NOT "cry wolf." If you have a question about the Rules, speak with the Envoy in charge of the event. 4) Respect others regarding of age, race, gender, creed, or color. Arguing with fellow players is disruptive and affects the enjoyment level of all players. If you have a disagreement or problem with the person you are playing with, ask the Envoy to assist in working things out peacefully. 5) Use appropriate language. 6) Be in your designated area at the appropriate time. This includes being ready at the start of the tournament, with your entry fee paid and team ready to go.
Consequences: Should any rule be broken, consequences will be consistent and incremental, as determined by the Envoy in charge of the event and/or Hero Headquarters officials.
1) Warning. You will usually be given a warning that your behavior is outside the boundaries. 2) Ineligibility. Breaking the rules may make you ineligible for a prize for a specific tournament or tournaments. If you are a minor, a parent or other legal guardian may need to meet with the envoy to discuss the issue. 3) Drop. Breaking the rules may cause you to be dropped from the tournament. A notification is sent to Wizkids whenever a player is dropped from a tournament. If you are a minor, a parent or other legal guardian may need to meet with the envoy to discuss the issue. 4) Ban. Breaking the rules may cause you to be banned from a tournament or a series of tournaments. A notification will be sent to Hero Headquarters whenever a player is banned. If you are a minor, a parent or other legal guardian will need to meet with the envoy to discuss the issue. In addition, the parent (or legal guardian) may need to speak with Hero HQ officials as well. 5) Store Ban. Breaking the rules may cause you to be banned from the store, at the discretion of Hero Headquarters. If you are a minor, a parent or other legal guardian may need to meet with store officials to discuss the issue.
